So, in a divergence from coding books, I’ve been reading Colson Whitehead’s magnificent, Pullitzer Prize winning novel, The Nickel Boys.
This is a beautiful, powerful, sad book. Perfectly written.
It’s Colson’s second Pullitzer, putting him in the company of Booth Tarkington, William Faulkner and John Updike
The words of Dr. Martin Luthor King, Jr. thread the novel like veins, particularly his speech at Zion Hill.
"We must believe in our souls that we are somebody, that we are significant, that we are worthful, and we must walk the streets of life every day with this sense of dignity and this sense of somebody-ness."
- Dr. Martin Luthor King, Jr.
Read the book if you value quality literature.
